Cr. E Evaluation

My gate didn’t work well. It has weak poles, because I couldn’t use an adhesive and just poked the poles in the polystyrene ground. It sometimes shakes. I planned to use the adhesive to attach everything that I use. But it melted the polystyrene and I couldn’t use the bond. That’s why my gate is not perfect.

I planned to make a cheap and light gate. Also it should be looked nice and work well. A nice gate is necessity in Ger Districts. My idea is nice, because people in Ger District can’t afford the expensive materials. I chose the wood to make a gate. Wooden gate is quite common, but it is the best material to make the gate. It is light, string and not expensive which the people in Ger District can afford it.

I planned to make the light, but strong gate. But I failed. The miniature of mine is very light but not strong enough. It breaks easily and can’t hold the gate. There was a problem during I made a gate. I should prepare the problem. I didn’t have attention to my assignment very much. I just bought an adhesive which is very strong. The adhesive is for the construction works. I had seen some adhesives melt the polystyrene. I needed to notice it. Because I wasn’t interested in the assignment, it didn’t finish well.

If I have another chance to do this assignment, I’ll make a nice rolling gate. As you know the present gate of mine is a hinged gate, but I didn’t plan to make it. It was also an accident. I couldn’t get any small circular things which will be suitable for the wheels of the rolling gate. In this time, I wasn’t prepared well. Thus, if I have another chance to do it, I’ll prepare proper and enough materials to do and make a nice and strong gate.

Test

Test
Mine is not work well. I didn't make my gate in the way that I planned. I made a rolling gate instead of a rolling gate. Because I changed the type of the gate, I couldn't follow my plan. There were no wheels on my gate. In addition, I make my gate with polystyrene in spite of the hardboard. I planned to use the bond to attach everything. However, I couldn't use an adhesive. I bought an adhesive, but it melted the polystyrene. Because I couldn’t use the bond, my gate became weak. The poles could hold the gates, but those shook and couldn’t hold the gate strong.
If I have a chance to improve my gate, I’ll look for some small circular things to make the wheels of a rolling gate. Also, I’ll find the proper adhesives which don’t melt the polystyrene. Then, I am going to make a strong rolling gate. It would be nice and strong. But it’s hard to find small circles. Thus, if I can’t find any small circles, I am going to make a strong hinged gate with new adhesive.

Only Haram answered my question. I didn't bring mine, but he knows everything about my work.

1. Is my gate finished correctly as I planned?
A: No, it’s not. I looked all, your plan, process and the gate. Yours is not built correctly. You planned to build a rolling gate, but you didn’t. You built a hinged gate in spite of a rolling gate. Because the type of gate is changed, you couldn’t build the gate as you planned before. In addition, an adhesive didn’t work. It melted the polystyrene. Thus, you used tape instead of an adhesive. You planned to make a gate with some hardboard. But you couldn’t find proper hardboard. Therefore you made the gate with polystyrene.
A:
2. What is the problem of my gate?
A: You couldn’t use a bond. It melted polystyrene and disturbs you a lot. You planned to stitch ever thing with the bond. Finally, you used tape instead of the bond. But you couldn’t use the tape for something and the poles were the one of them. Those can hold the gate, but it shakes. It can’t hold the gate strong.
3. What can be improved?
A: If you find an adhesive which doesn’t melt the polystyrene, it would be helpful. You can make a perfect new gate. The new gate would be strong. With the new bond, you can attach the poles on the ground that made with polystyrene.
Second, if you find any proper small circular things, you should try to make a rolling gate. Your plan was a rolling gate, not a hinged gate. I am sure that the rolling gate is going to be better than the hinged door.

Changes
1. I made a hinged gate instead of a rolling gate.
2. I didn't make my gate with paper. I made it with polystyrene
3. I didn't use adhesives becasue the adhesive melted the polystyrene.
4. I didn't start in November 13th.
5. I made some additional windows which weren't on the plan.

Cr. D

I made my gate miniature for two days. Before I realized rolling gate is not possible to build with the materials which I could have. To make rolling gate I need some small wheels or small circular things. But I didn’t have it and couldn’t find in Mongolia. Thus, I changed my gate design to a hinged gate and drew the new sketch. I started this work on November 19, and there was a problem. I bought a strong adhesive, but it melted polystyrene. I couldn’t attach polystyrene with a wooden chopstick. I tried to find another way to stick polystyrene with a chopstick. But there was no way. Finally, I just poked chopsticks to the polystyrene (The chopsticks were the poles and polystyrene was the ground). Because the chopsticks weren’t attached to the polystyrene, it kept swaying and was weak. But it could hold the gate. I kept making gate. First, I made a walkway gate. It is made with black polystyrene and has a window. I stapled it to the wooden poles instead of sticking with adhesive and it worked successfully. After I made a walkway door, I made a gate for drivers. It is almost similar to the walkway gate. It is just bigger and has more windows. In addition, the driveway gate has a crossbar.

I connected the gates (a walkway gate and a driveway gate) with staples. It worked well and helped me a lot. Also, I had enough big polystyrene to be a ground for gates.

As I said, there was a problem, but that was not a serious problem. My adhesive melted the polystyrene, so I just poked the poles to the polystyrene and the poles could hold the gates.

If I have a chance to do it again, I would like to try a rolling gate. I will try to find small wheels. If I made a rolling gate, it would be nice. Also, I like to make nicer gate. Mine is not perfect although it works. I would like to make stronger gate.

Criterion B design

The first driveway gate is a sliding door which made with iron. It is opened in just one way, left or right. It is quite heavy. But it has steel wheels which won’t be broken easily. There is an iron rail which helps wheels to roll easier. This door also has a locker, so strangers can’t enter the inside of the gate without a key. There is a window on the walkway door and it is made with iron. The window is only opened by the people who are in inside of the gate. The walkway door is a wooden door. It’s pretty light and easy to move. This door is a hinged door and stood by some iron hinges. There is a strong locker too.

The second driveway gate is a hinged door which made with wood. It has some strong hinges to prevent falling down of the gate, but those are too big which don’t look nice. It has a window which has steel bars to look out the people who knock on the door. But strangers also see the inside of the gate, because the window is too big. There is a strong crossbar which made with steel to lock the gate. The walkway door is a hinged door too. It is a wooden door which is moved easily. It has a few hinges but those are big and strong enough to hold the door. The roundish window is on the top of the door and it has some iron bars. It also has a locker.

The third driveway gate is a sliding door which made with iron. This gate has two parts, left and right, and can be opened in both ways. The left part of the gate is opened in the left side and the right one is opened in the right side. Because this gate is made with the iron, it’s heavy to move. For that reason, there are some wheels to help moving. The wheels are made with steel and roll on the iron rail. There is a huge window which has many iron bars. The iron bars prevent trespass of strangers. The walkway door is made iron, but it is not heavy, because the door is made with iron bars. The whole door looks like a window because it doesn’t have surface. There are some decorations. Because of the decorations the door looks nice; because the decorations are the sharpened arrows it also prevent jumping over the door.

The final gate is the first sketch of the gate. It is the most strong and safe gate out of the three gates. It doesn’t look beautiful or cool, but the most importance of the gate is safety and strongness. Therefore the first gate is the final gate.
