Cr. A Investigation

This unit is named 'Modern Shakespeare'. In this unit our class is going to make a video about a play by Shakespeare to appeal to modern day viewers. To make a play about Shakespeare we will research and learned about Shakespeare. AOI for this unit is ATL, because the unit helps students to look at new ways of interpreting old material in order to increase our understanding of it. We decided the learning profile for this unit. We chose communicators as the learning profile. We are going to collect information from internet. Also, some students are learning about Shakespeare in English class. Shakespeare is the most famous writer. He wrote many famous plays and stories. I read and learned about him and his works in Korean. I read some of his stories and plays. I know that Shakespeare is not a exact person. It could be a group of writers or another writer who lived in same era. His stories and plays are not able to written legally in that time in UK, so some people consider him as another writer in same era or secret group of writers. I expect to learn more about Shakespeare and his works. Actually, I read some of his novels, but I have not seen his plays. I expect to see some plays of him and learn how to film. Of course I expect to learn more about Shakespeare and his works. In English A they are writing script for ‘Much to do about nothing’. However I’m not in English A and I’m not reading or learning about Shakespeare and his plays. I don’t know the story completely. So, my job would be helping to set up the video and some other things. The materials that we need are computer, camera and some stools for play.
This unit will be interesting and important unit. Shakespeare is the best playwright. Since now, no one was as good as Shakespeare.
The unit question is ‘How can we create a video presentation of a Shakespeare play that will appeal to modern day viewers’. I think to appeal Shakespeare play to modern day viewers, the language and words that he used should be changed a lot. Because he’s the person who lived in 400 years ago, and some of words that he used are not using anymore or using very rarely. To appeal to modern viewers the play should be fixed in form that will be easy to understand to modern people. Also, to make the play to be loved by many people, the play has to be appraised by many people. There are many kinds of people in the world who have different character and preference. Before you perform the play if you show your play to other people around you and ask them advice, it would be nice.
